Generation of superbills pertains if you utilize a billing company to whom you send superbills at regular intervals. However, if you don’t want superbills and need to export billing data from the EMR as a CSV (comma separated values) file instead, you may change the billing mode in customization area. A comprehensive built-in utility allows you to define and fine-tune structure of the export file and all the data elements therein. This is a one-time procedure. Once the structure of the CSV file is defined in the above screen, user just has to click a button in the billing section to export entire day's worth of billing data in CSV format. The file is saved at a user specified location on the hard drive from where it could be imported into the target practice management system, billing software or bookkeeping program.
