Purchase Laboratory / Radiology Interface
Purchasing an inbound interface key online for your UniCharts™ EMR is safe. To ensure highest level of security for our users while purchasing online, we utilize Google Checkout™ online payment processing service provided by Google Inc. It is a new type of online payment method that allows you to quickly and easily buy from stores across the web and track all your orders and shipping in one place. Processing millions of transactions, Google Checkout™ uses latest encryption technology and stores transaction information on its secure servers located in its locked data centers. If you decide to proceed with any of the options listed below, you will be directed to Google Checkout™ where all the information collection and processing occurs.
WE DO NOT COLLECT YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD INFORMATION
on our website as this is handled for us by Google at their secure sites. If you have any question in this regard, you may use our support service to submit your query.
- Interface Details
The laboratory and radiology interfaces are unidirectional (results-only) and utilize File-based communication method. That is, the lab or radiology downloads/deposits the HL7 version 2.x ORU messages to a shared directory (folder) on the computer that has the EMR server installed. This folder is reserved for the sole purpose of incoming lab messages and no other file types or information is stored in it. Our system automatically picks up the files as soon as they arrive and parse them. Depending on the interface setting within the EMR, the successfully processed files are either deleted or just moved to a sub-folder within the shared directory. Any invalid or erroneous files are always moved to a sub-folder within the shared directory. The successfully processed messages are converted into human-readable reports and then mapped to patient charts using an internal algorithm. Finally, the system alerts/prompts the designated EMR user for further action regarding the arrived results. The system also provides a mechanism to review and manually index any unmatched results to their respective patients.
- Purchase Options
Please contact your lab/radiology company or our support service to see whether an interface with the target company is available. If we already have an interface, you just need to select the first option and click continue button at the bottom of the page to complete the transaction. We will send you an email containing a new key and detailed instructions on how to enable the interface as soon as we receive the purchase order notification from Google. On the other hand, if we do not currently have an interface with the target laboratory or radiology company you should select the second option to invoke the development process. In this case, it may take up to two weeks to deliver the interface and its activation key. We would also need the specification document and/or few sample HL7 ORU messages to complete and debug the interface.
